Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will announce our 'Player(s) of the Week' awards for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state will continue to perform and put up numbers weekly, though only a select few can earn Player or Pitcher of the Week honors when compared on a weekly basis. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honor this spring season. We will also highlight those that fell short in our weekly 'Diamond Notes' article, where you can learn more about the standout names across the Colorado baseball landscape.

WEEK 7 COLORADO PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Caden Absher SS / 2B / Douglas County, CO / 2025 Absher flashed some impressive power in week 7 thanks to four extra-base hits, which included 2 doubles and a 2 home run game. The uncommitted junior hit .455 on the week (5 for 11) and now has his season line up to a .378 average with 5 home runs, and a 1.325 OPS across 54 plate appearances at the 5A level. Absher is a two sport athlete (also plays football) who is actively developing on the baseball field, and is well worth a follow.

WEEK 7 COLORADO PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Fabian Gaeta LHP / OF / Prairie View, CO / 2025 Gaeta chucked a 16 strikeout no-hitter against rival Brighton HS during week 7 to earn his Pitcher of the Week award. We can also tell you that Gaeta carried a perfect game into the 7th inning before walking one batter, and then ending the game with a strikeout. The Future Games alumni is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the state thanks to plenty of deception from the left-side, and a fastball in the mid to upper 80s. Gaeta has now registered 66 strikeouts across 38 innings to go with his .135 opponent batting average allowed and just 6 walks in 2024.
