Andy Urban
Central Region & Prep Baseball Tournaments KC Scouting Director

After seeing more players this preseason than ever before, and a handfull of freshman making impacts this spring, it is time again to update the Kansas Class of 2027 Rankings. After a small initial 25 player rankings for this class in the fall, we have added over 50 new names and expanded to 75 players to the list that features numerous high risers and noteable newcomers. Below, we take a close look at the top 10, some of the biggest risers, and highest ranked newcomers. It is important to note that in rankings updates this large, that even players who have gotten substancially better may see their total rankings slide due to the number of players added and those who have made significant jumps. Top Newcomers (All in the top 25)

We have added more players to our freshman class spring update than we ever have before. Below, we take a quick look at the top 6 players we have added that college should know about.

Jackson Barker RHP / 1B / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2027

Barker first popped on our radar at the BTL Scout Day this preseason, showing some physicality and a fastball up to 86. It is his ability to compete in game against some of the toughest competion in the state that seems him debut on our list in the top 10.

Connor McCool SS / RHP / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2027

Another freshman making an impact for Shawnee Mission South, McCool shows tools in every facet of the game. At the BTL Scout Day the right-handed hitter produced one of the best rounds of BP of the entire preseason with a top EV of 95 and an average of 91.

Tison Wren SS / RHP / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2027

The right-handed hitter had a loud day at the US Nationals Scout Day showing off pop with a compact swing. Defensively, Wren shows solid actions and a strong arm across the diamond

Everett Sims OF / 1B / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2027

Easily one of the most physical players in the class, Sims jumps into our list in the top 25 as one of the top power bats. Look for Sims to climb our list as he continues to polish his game.

Nate Robinson SS / RHP / Clearwater, KS / 2027

The small town prospect shows tools with both the bat and on the dirt as an infielder. The two-way prospect shines just as brightly on the mound where he showed a fastball up to 83 at the Wichita Preseason ID.

Jacob Stehley 1B / LHP / Wichita Collegiate, KS / 2027

One of the smoothest left-handed swings in the class so far, Stehley also shows some advanced opposite field pop. A high follow left-handed bat with power potential. A two-way prospect as well, Stehley also fills up the zone with a mid 70s fastball.
